{"id":1074,"date":"2018-06-27T04:11:41","date_gmt":"2018-06-27T04:11:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/?p=1074"},"modified":"2018-06-27T04:11:42","modified_gmt":"2018-06-27T04:11:42","slug":"tuesday-january-25-2018-shopping-and-winery-visit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/?p=1074","title":{"rendered":"Tuesday, January 25, 2018 ~ Shopping and Winery Visit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1599.jpg\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1067 size-full\" height=\"480\" width=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1599.jpg 640w, http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1599-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The day began its adventures with this sunrise from my window. \u00c2\u00a0Today we were free to do what we wished until 2:00 P.M.<u> <\/u><\/p>\n<p>Linda and I ate breakfast, then we went shopping. \u00c2\u00a0We each bought some beautiful handmade items in the boutique shops in Pienza. \u00c2\u00a0Then at 2:00 we rode the bus to Montepulciano. \u00c2\u00a0We stopped on the way to Montepulciano to see the architecture of a church. \u00c2\u00a0I even sang in the center, and my voice sounded very full because of the way the church was designed. \u00c2\u00a0When we arrived in the town, we had the option of doing several things. \u00c2\u00a0Linda and I felt like shopping.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1621.jpg\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1068 size-full\" height=\"480\" width=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1621.jpg 640w, http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1621-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Leonardo da Vinci designed and made plans for this horse statue. \u00c2\u00a0Later, sculptors recreated the design, and this horse was the result.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1636.jpg\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1069\" height=\"480\" width=\"640\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1636.jpg 640w, http:\/\/www.carolgreene.com\/travel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/img_1636-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We were given a complete tour of the Villa S Anna Winery which is managed completely by women. \u00c2\u00a0The same family has operated it for six generations. \u00c2\u00a0They have a limited production, so the wine can only be purchased at the winery and online. \u00c2\u00a0After the tour, we sat inside the tasting room at tables. \u00c2\u00a0We were served pecorino cheese and sun dried tomato appetizers, tomato soup, salami, cheeses, and dessert, each with a different variety of wine. \u00c2\u00a0We tasted four red varieties.
