Today we visited Ait Benhaddou, a picturesque mountainside town. \u00c2\u00a0First, we visited the home of a well-to-do family. \u00c2\u00a0The husband and wife had an arranged marriage. They had several grown children. The wife is pictured here.<\/p>\n

The water tank is pictured here. \u00c2\u00a0The shower is through the door. \u00c2\u00a0The oven where bread is baked daily is behind another door. \u00c2\u00a0The donkey and other small animals are kept inside the walls of the house too.<\/p>\n

The colorfully decorated house is very large. \u00c2\u00a0Take your shoes off before stepping on the living room carpets.<\/p>\n

One of their sons is a painter who paints pictures of camels and buildings. \u00c2\u00a0He uses natural pigments, then he holds the completed painting over a flame. \u00c2\u00a0The yellow turns brown because there is sugar in the paint.<\/p>\n

There is a film school near the town. \u00c2\u00a0Many major movies have been filmed in the old city on the hill, including Game of Thrones episodes.<\/p>\n

We visited the Women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Co-op. \u00c2\u00a0The women are becoming more self-confident and independent by working in the co-op.<\/p>\n

We learned how they make couscous out of flour. \u00c2\u00a0We also rolled out cookie dough and cut cookies like they make to sell.<\/p>\n
