Ecuador Guide

We got an email this morning from Delphin Gualinga, the man who will be our guide in Ecuador. He sent us a list of things we should make sure to bring. I had already packed what I think I will need, and I have decided to take the usual spinner suitcase. I will carry the backpack on the plane with the necessary items in case my spinner decides to take a scenic side trip for a day or two. In the bottom of the spinner, I have packed an empty duffel to take to the Amazon. The spinner would be left at the last hotel and picked up before going to the Galapagos. Packing is the most difficult part of the trip for me. Even though I don’t take a huge amount of things with me, I want to make sure I take the essential items.

Packing

I am in packing mode getting ready for our trip to South America. Machu Picchu, the Ecuadorian Amazon, and the Galapagos are on our itinerary. In 2008 I was there, and I am excited to return to this beautiful region of the world.

Luggage is my concern at the moment. For Machu Picchu and the Amazon parts of the adventure, we will take only a small bag or backpack with us and leave the bigger bag at the last hotel. Maybe I should pack so lightly that a small bag is all I will need. I have done that on some previous trips and the only thing it limits is souvenirs. After all, I don’t really need more souvenirs, and it is impossible to purchase anything on a small ship in the middle of the Galapagos!

Oh well, i have almost completed gathering together possible things to take. We will see what happens.
